I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over eight years of experience working with children, adults and families. I received a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College and I am currently completing an 18 month training in Child Parent Psychotherapy.

I believe each person has the capacity to create the change they wish to achieve, to adapt to the array of experiences that come your way, and to overcome and live with tremendous tragedy. I also believe in building and fostering resiliency which can come in the form of learning new skills, creating healthy relationships to form a sense of belonging, and/or creating new perceptions of your life and experiences. In our work together you can expect a safe and supportive environment based in respect for your unique experiences and strengths.

My specialty is early childhood mental health, including infants and toddlers. Every child comes with at least one adult that is doing the best they can to understand and meet their child’s needs. And every child is using whatever ability they have to communicate their emotional and physical needs. My therapeutic perspective is based in attachment work, with a strong understanding of childhood development, an awareness of individual and family culture, and includes extensive knowledge of the impact trauma has on early childhood development and attachment. My areas of expertise are in treating trauma, domestic violence, building healthy attachment for families experiencing foster placement and/or adoption, concerns around typical development, early childhood self-harm behaviors, explosive behaviors, anxiety, and adjusting to life changes. For children, my approach to therapy utilizes play, art, sand tray, social stories, exploring ways you can support your child, and is typically joint work with you and your child.

I also work with adolescents and young adults doing work around grief, loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life changes. My approach is emotion focused, utilizes narrative therapy, solution focused approaches, mindfulness, and is based in creating a trusting relationship between therapist and client. My role is to collaborate with you in creating achievable therapeutic goals that will lead to a sense of balance, peace and well-being.
