Nationally Board Certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Erin has decided to leave Willamette Health & Wellness, as well as step away from her practice for now in order to focus on her health and family. Though we are very sad to see her leave, we are happy that she is able to take care of herself and her family.

I am a board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I have been working with individuals in the mental health field for 10+ years. I completed my BS in Psychology at Corban University in Salem. Through working in a residential treatment home, I was intrigued by the benefit that well-purposed medication management can have in the treatment of mental illness. Because of this, I then completed my BS in Nursing at University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus. I returned to Oregon and finished my education by earning both my Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees at Oregon Health & Science University.

My personal philosophy is that a person is made up of mind, body, and spirit. Because of that I strive to build a practice that focuses on your ongoing recovery by caring for your whole being including sleep hygiene, exercise, meditation and prayer, nutrition and vitamins, therapy and psychosocial supports, and use of medications in the lowest possible (yet effective) dose. To achieve the best outcome, I believe in partnering with my client to build your treatment plan based on your specific needs and desires. My doctoral project focused on communication and collaboration between varying disciplines that care for patients, but each of those also extend to the relationship between you and I.

Before coming to WHW, I spent much of my career working with Veterans and in forensic and community psychiatry. While those fields continue to intrigue me, my current practice interests @ WHW include use of the monoamine theory to treat common mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorders, PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and addiction.
